Tammy Beach

Mrs. Tammy Beach was born and raised in Bristol. She attended John S. Battle High School.

She is married to Tim and they have two sons, Corey and William. Corey is a Registered Nurse (RN) at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville, and William just graduated from East Tennessee State University and hopes to have a career in education and coaching football. Mrs. Beach has a new puppy that she adopted just before CoVid-19 hit the area. Gunner is a miniature schnauzer and keeps Mrs. Beach very busy with long walks.

Educational Background & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s of Art in Elementary Education at Virginia Intermont College in Bristol.
  • Master’s Degree in Middle Grades Education at Appalachian State University in Boone.
  • School Administration Certification from University of North Carolina Wilmington.

Mrs. Beach began her nineteen-year career in 2000 as a 6th grade teacher in North Carolina. She has taught in the classroom for fourteen and a half years. The majority of her teaching was in math and science but has taught all core subjects in the middle school setting at one time or another.

Mrs. Beach has coached several sports including girls’ basketball, softball, volleyball, and cheerleading. She was a middle school athletic director for two years as well.

In January 2016, Mrs. Beach moved to school administration serving as assistant principal for three and a half years at both the middle and high school levels. During 2019-2020 she served as the middle school math specialist/curriculum coach at Virginia Middle School in Bristol, Virginia.

Mrs. Beach is extremely excited to be the new principal at Jefferson Middle School. Her heart is working in the middle school setting, and she knows that JMS is the place that she is meant to be!

Jacob Lemons is assistant principal at Jefferson Middle School. He is excited to serve the students and faculty, and wants to help provide students with the opportunity to be lifelong learners.
